It is not because the boards we use are not intended to be ride that we skimped on quality ! Discover the secrets of Papa Josette's skateboards. We even go further: if you really wanted to ride them, you could easily do it.
In this article, discover the secrets of boards used to make Papa Josette products.
Quality of a real skateboard
You may know it already but, there are 3 great families of boards : longboards, cruisers and “street” skateboards.
Concerning cruisers and longboards, many brands and designers have been original in the last few years in order to offer new models. Whether solid wood longboards like FWOOD ones or transparent cruiser planks like Jelly Skateboards ones, there have been plenty of innovations. Each one trying to improve planks design or shape while optimizing the specs.
A proven composition
First of all, our boards are made of maple wood. For skateboard, the maple is almost always used and it is probably the best possible wood, because of its excellent ratio "weight / resistance". There is a reason why all major brands of boards use it. It comes very often from Canada, which, by its rather cool temperatures (understatement ?), allows to obtain a wood of a fairly constant quality.
Like street skates, our boards are also made of 7 "layers". This expression, widely used by skaters, refers to the 7 layers of fine wood that make up your board, and is the ideal number of layers to give the wood an optimal rigidity and flexibility. As for cruisers and longboards, it can be 9 layers, depending on plank sizes, but at Papa Josette, we are not concerned by these specific features (yet !).
A meticulous manufacturing process
Nowadays, a manufacturing system dominates all others: the pressed wood construction. This is the assembly process of all these layers, which provides a board both smooth and strong.
During all the manufacturing, and before even being assembled on our furniture, the boards are subjected to regular quality tests. And it is for the best : given that we do not give maximum weight allowed as your elevator does politely, our products must be resistant in all circumstances ! And that, is on one hand the work of our team, but also high-end machines that guarantee a shape, a varnish, and perfect finishing touches.
Finally, about environmental issues, because we have to talk about it, be reassured : our boards come from sustainable forests, and all our waste is recycled !
You have been warned beforehand but you have got the proof now : our Papa Josette creations are made to last. So if it was not the case yet, we hope you are definitely convinced !
